Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Service Sales is responsible for sales and business development for mtu applications within the assigned portfolio. The role focuses on sustaining the existing customer base, developing new customers, and penetrating new market segments to grow service sales and overall business performance.

This position manages both internal and external customer relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, achieve incoming orders and revenue targets, and support the implementation of approved sales strategies through direct engagement with end users, governmental customers, distributors, and strategic accounts.

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for sales and business development for mtu applications in the assigned portfolio.
  • Manage both internal and external customer relationships to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop business by sustaining the existing customer base, developing new customers, and penetrating new segments.


What you will be doing:

Sales & Business Development

  • Plan, monitor and report applications business performance for the relevant planning horizon, including service sales contribution towards Aftermarket & Technical Services (ATS).
  • Proactively drive sales for all Rolls-Royce Solutions products for the respective applications to end users and governmental customers through the route-to-market strategy.
  • Drive sales to and via distribution channels, with a focus on increasing sales, strengthening sales capability, and expanding market access.
  • Develop business by maintaining and growing the existing customer base, acquiring new customers, and penetrating new market segments.
  • Maximise service business revenue through customer retention, upselling, and business expansion.
  • Implement approved sales strategies and initiatives within the assigned territory or portfolio.
  • Support ownership of network development and continuous improvement to increase service business performance.

Customer & Market Management

  • Manage both internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term business success.
  • Provide accurate and timely service, customer, and market information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct customer visits, business reviews, and performance discussions to strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities.
  • Manage customer expectations, address escalations, and resolve issues effectively.

Commercial Management

  • Take responsibility for incoming orders and revenue achievement.
  • Maximise revenue and profitability of the service business through effective commercial management.
  • Take ownership of the form and content of quotations in accordance with applicable regulations, and ensure timely submission.
  • Support contract negotiation and commercial discussions in line with business objectives and compliance requirements.

Key Account Management

  • Lead key account management activities for strategic customers.
  • Build account plans, identify business opportunities, and ensure a high level of service delivery to maintain and grow long-term relationships.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across the business.
  • Undertake any other assignments delegated by the line manager.

Position requirements

Education

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Marine, or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sales or service within the marine or industrial sectors.
  • Experience in service sales, business development, and account management.
  • Experience working with distributors, end users, and strategic customers.
  • Exposure to governmental customers or agencies would be advantageous.
  • Strong track record in customer relationship management, revenue delivery, and service sales performance.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage quotations and revenue targets.
  • Good understanding of route-to-market strategies and distributor sales models.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel for business as required.
